“We’re so relieved,” says CEO and Founder Shelly Bowen. “We know the content is solid, and we spent an extra month on quality assurance, but we’ve heard that it can be difficult for first-timers to be accepted. Now we can really share our vision and get real-world feedback.”

Red Piggy Press’ mission is to use art and technology to create interactive stories that encourage curiosity, exploration, and discovery. All Fixed Up, their first interactive app, is a 20+ page storybook that is designed to help kids whose parents travel often cope with a parent’s absence. The story was inspired by Bowen’s own experience growing up as a military daughter.

The main characters can be customized for the reader: switch dad for mom and give the child ponytails or short hair. Then add a child’s name, record your own voice, and swap out other elements to create a story all your own. At the end, share your creation as a video by email or Facebook.

The first version of the app is for iPad iOS 6.0+ and is in English and Spanish and retails for $3.99. The iPhone version is in progress and is expected late February. For the latest information and to download the app, visit www.redpiggypress.com/allfixedup.
